Subsystem 1: The gear loader. We have finished our gear loader and are satisfied with its functionality. We are easily able to control this system using our computer and robot from last season.
Subsystem 2: The Wiffle ball dump system. We are almost finished with our ball dump system. We have prototyped this mechanism using wood and are pleased with how it works. We are busy installing the shafts, sprockets, motor and chains that it takes to run this system.
Subsystem 3: Rope Climb: We have our gearbox assembled that it will take to run this system, now we have to mount it to the robot, attach a sprocket and run a chain to our shaft that will catch the rope.
We have continued working on our electrical board and will soon be testing it on our robot. Electronics will aim to have the robot from the build team by Monday, February 13th. This is all contingent on the build team finishing the mechanicals this week.
We have acquired a new mentor in this department with over 35 years of programming experience. We have also began to program our Xbox controller to operate the gear retrieval system.
We have continued working on our website and Facebook account. We are also working to complete our team buttons and magnets.
